The Writing Center offers two options for students to get writing assistance (tutoring) in the winter quarter of 2026.
- Assistance for any graduate student (available January 12 – March 20, 2026)
- Assistance for undergraduate students enrolled in Writing 1, 1E, 2, 2H, 26, 163 (available January 20 – March 20, 2026)
For Undergraduates: Scheduling Sessions with Writing Assistants
Undergraduates enrolled in Writing 1, 1E, 2, 2H, 26, 163 who are seeking writing support may schedule a session by clicking the yellow “Schedule an Appointment” link above. This will take you to the scheduling website (https://ucsc.mywconline.com/) where you may set up an account and schedule a writing assistance session. For help with any writing assignment, you may schedule a writing assistance session in the calendar labeled “Undergrad Writing Support Winter 2026.” This service is available January 20 – March20, 2026. Before scheduling, please read the information on how to register and make an appointment at the bottom of this page.
FOR UNDERGRADS NOT ENROLLED IN THE ABOVE CLASSES: If you are an undergraduate who is not enrolled in Writing 1, 1E, 2, 2H, 26, or 163, but needs writing assistance, please contact UCSC’s Learning Support Services.

How to Register for and Make Appointments at ucsc.mywconline.com:
- Open The Writing Center Schedule (ucsc.mywconline.com).
- If you are a new user, you will need to register for an account by clicking on the link: “First Visit?: Register for an account.” You will need to register for the account before you can make an appointment. If you are already a registered user, enter your login information and choose the appropriate writing center schedule shown below.
- UNDERGRADUATES: Click “Schedules” in the navigation bar at the top of the page. A list of appointment schedules will appear below. Choose the schedule labeled “Undergrad Writing Support Winter 2026”
- GRADUATE STUDENTS: Click “Schedules” in the navigation bar at the top of the page. A list of appointment schedules will appear below. Select the schedule labeled “Grad Student Writing Support Winter 2026.”
Once you are in the schedule, click on an open appointment to schedule your meeting with a writing assistant. We are currently available for online appointments only. You may schedule more than one session.
You may schedule a synchronous appointment to meet online “in real time” with your tutor. You may instead schedule an asynchronous appointment so that you may submit your writing to the tutor in advance, give the mentor time to review and comment on it, and then receive feedback either via email or in real time online.
Writing Center Attendance Policies:
- Undergraduates may schedule 30-minute or 60-minute sessions with a tutor, once per day.
- Graduate students may schedule sessions of up to 1.5 hours, once per day.
- Writing Center users may schedule recurring appointments in advance. The Writing Center is a popular resource, so be sure that you either attend or cancel your scheduled appointments to be respectful of other student’s needs. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, return to The Writing Center schedule at ucsc.mywconline.com.
- Writing Center users who miss 3 scheduled sessions in a quarter will be blocked from making appointments until the next quarter begins.
- Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. No same-day appointments may be scheduled.
