The Writing Center offers three options for students to get writing assistance in the fall quarter of 2025.
- Assistance for any graduate students (available October 9 -December 5)
- Assistance for undergraduates enrolled in Writing 1, Writing 1E, Writing 2, or Writing 26 (available September 25 – December 5)
- Assistance for undergraduate students in any classes other than those named above (available October 9 – December 5)
For Undergraduates: Scheduling Sessions with Writing Assistants
Undergraduates seeking writing support may schedule a session by selecting from one of two options. Please click the “Schedule an Appointment” link above. This will take you to the scheduling website (https://ucsc.mywconline.com/) where you may set up an account and schedule a writing assistance session.
- Students enrolled in Writing 1, Writing 1E, Writing 2, or Writing 26: Schedule an appointment in the calendar labeled “Writing Assistants: Writing 1, 1E, 2, 26.” This service is available September 25 – December 5, 2025.
- Students not enrolled in Writing 1, Writing 1E, Writing 2, or Writing 26 who need support with any writing assignment: Schedule an appointment in the calendar labeled “Undergraduate Writing Support (Fall 2025).” This service is available from October 9 – December 5, 2025.

Graduate students may schedule a tutoring session by selecting the schedule labeled “Grad Student Writing Support (Fall 2025).” This service is available October 9 – December 5.
How to Register for and Make Appointments at ucsc.mywconline.com:
- Open The Writing Center Schedule (ucsc.mywconline.com).
- If you are a new user, you will need to register for an account by clicking on the link: “First Visit?: Register for an account.” You will need to register for the account before you can make an appointment. If you are a registered user, enter your login information and choose the appropriate writing center schedule shown below.
- UNDERGRADUATES ENROLLED IN WRITING 1, 1E, 2, or 26: The schedule will be at the top of the page and is labeled “Writing Assistants: Writing 1, 1E, 2 26.”
- UNDERGRADUATES NOT ENROLLED IN WRITING 1, 1E, 2, or 26: The schedule will be at the top of the page and is labeled “Undergraduate Writing Support (Fall 25).”
- GRADUATE STUDENTS: Grads may schedule a tutoring session by selecting the schedule labeled “Grad Student Writing Support (Fall 2025).”
Once you are in the schedule, click on an open appointment to schedule your meeting with a Writing Mentor. We are currently available for online appointments only. You may schedule more than one session.
You may schedule a synchronous appointment to meet online “in real time” with your tutor. You may instead schedule an asynchronous appointment so that you may submit your writing to the tutor in advance, give the mentor time to review and comment on it, and then receive feedback either via email or in real time online.
Writing Center Attendance Policies:
- Undergraduates may schedule 30-minute or 60-minute sessions with a tutor, once per day.
- Graduate students may schedule sessions of up to 1.5 hours, once per day.
- Writing Center users may schedule recurring appointments in advance. The Writing Center is a popular resource, so be sure that you either attend or cancel your scheduled appointments to be respectful of other student’s needs. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, return to The Writing Center schedule at ucsc.mywconline.com.
- Writing Center users who miss 3 scheduled sessions in a quarter will be blocked from making appointments until the next quarter begins.
